Pregnancy – Mission ImPOPssible

So, what does being pregnant in the third trimester feel like?

The blahs… of pregnancy

With an enlarged belly, my walking speed has slowed down and not to mention, I find it challenging to move around without feeling breathless and things do feel a little heavier, so bending over or bending down is quite frankly…mission impossible.

There’s also frequent visits to the toilet and the constant urge to wee, and sometimes, it’s a wasted trip to the toilet as there isn’t even a drop of wee (yes, I am serious…the feeling of being cheated! But then again, better go than to have an accident).

Most of the time, it kinda feels like the baby is doing either a pirouette inside or elbowing my bladder like a wrestler.

I think it’s the latter.

I have frequent swelling in my legs and ankles, when I walk, my legs feel heavier due to the water retention in the ankles. But I have to walk in order for the water retention in my body to regulate. I have images to prove but I’m not sure if you’re ready for it.

Just kidding, that’s a turkey leg🤣

So here is my sexy swelling ankles!

It gives me goosebumps when I see it in real life and I think it scares others as well. But honestly, the water retention doesn’t bother me much because I am feeling so much love and encouragement from my surroundings!

The YAY of pregnancy!

Being so pregnant now guarantees a seat in the train for me. At this point, there is no “I wonder if she’s pregnant or fat, I wouldn’t want to offend her” because I am sure to be on the “definitely pregnant” side of the spectrum now.

And I am really grateful and slightly embarrassed whenever someone lets me have their seat. Grateful because my feet won’t ache as much and embarrassed because, well I’m Asian. I get embarrassed over things like that 😅

Work and my sweet, supportive hubby

I have since completed my 6 years of performing work in USS and we shall see if I will be going back there to work next year. For now, it’s a year’s break for me.

Terry has been very sweet and lovely (as he is) to get me flowers on the last day of work. This is the third time he’s gotten me flowers. First was at our wedding, second was a random day and this is the third. And he gathers flowers and twine them together on his own, which I love.

Baby and pregnancy updates

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant, so, I am pretty much ready to pop this baby out at any time.

In my previous blog I have Pregnancy Diabetes, I mentioned that being diabetic might also mean that I will have a big baby. Well guess what? At our doctor’s appointment last week, doctor mentioned that my baby weighs 2.17kg. That is an acceptable weight, but definitely smaller than the average. But his papa and I are also small people, so we will make a perfect small family!

I feel that after being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, I have been cautious with my diet. And I can’t help but wonder if that’s the reason why I have a smaller baby…

Though I feel that there is nothing wrong with having a small baby (considering both mine and my husband’s size), the doctor did mention that by the 38th week, if baby is still on the smaller side, they would have me induced.

My first reaction was WHAT? Induce? Why???

The answer I got was that it’ll compromise the womb if baby stays in there longer. Well if that’s what the doctor says, I’ll just go with it even though I never thought I would be induced and this early.

But hey! I just might get to see the little one in just over a week from now. That’s… HUGE! It’s tiny but it’s huge.

Here’s a bump photo! My next photo could be with a baby!
