The start of a very new beginning

It is fast approaching our first wedding anniversary this October and many of you might have asked about our home. Truth is, we don’t have a home.

YET!

Haha! I’ve stayed over at her parents place since our wedding just so that I can be with┬áher everyday čÖé Of course, it ain’t the same as having your very own home to go back to! But it was all in our plans…

We’ve heard stories from our friends about the crazy crunch when you put everything together… Church wedding, wedding dinner, house renovation works… etc. The thought┬áof the rush and the financial stress you may face when you put everything together was really too scary. Hence, we planned it by spreading it wide!

First, plan a beautiful church wedding with no rush in Oct. It was just the holy matrimony in the morning, a light lunch and then back home čÖé No rush to prep for the wedding dinner on the same day

Next, a pause of four months to prep for the biggest night of our lives in Feb!

Finally, SAVE UP for the home renovation to start eight months later ;p

After about four years since we applied for a HDB Build To Order flat, we FINALLY received our keys in┬áAugust!┬áWe were so excited, we immediately drove down to our flat after┬ácollecting the keys from HDB Hub čÖé

Opened our door and was pleasantly surprised with what we saw. Our new home.

Indeed to our surprise, there was little to zero defects and looked like we could just move the furniture in and literally live here the next day! But of course… we won’t haha!

We were quite fortunate to have found Texan, our interior designer, who was very patient with our many silly questions and requests!

Finally settled on the final layout for our home! Received the final quote. Final 3D drawing in process.

The renovation process just started.

We decided to hack half a wall to brighten up our kitchen!

Aircon has already been installed. And just a few days ago, the electrician came by to create new power points and set up lighting points. Zhixin and I decided on track lights instead of the usual ceiling lamps to give it a Scandinavian look!

The Scandinavian themed decor’s colour palette consists of white, grey and light brown. Neutral shades to be specific. Will get our furniture to fit the colours too! Psst… nobody knows yet but… we managed to get our grey sofa at half price! We were lucky!

Ordered and bought the following so far:
čö╣Pendant lights
čö╣Fridge
čö╣Oven
čö╣Samsung 65″ TV
čö╣Sofa
čö╣Induction hob
čö╣Cooking hood
čö╣Toilet sinks
čö╣Kitchen sink
čö╣Taps
čö╣Washing Machine
čö╣Dryer
čö╣Perfecta Bed
čö╣Kitchenaid
čö╣OSIM massage chair

Yup… I convinced Zhixin to say yes to my compulsive purchase of a massage chair. The last┬áI┬áchecked, she still loves me. LOL! I mean hey… you get to do whatever you want with the kitchen, all I need is the Massage chair and my 65″ TV čśë

The countdown begins! According to the schedule set out by our ID, we should be ready to move in by the end of October! Woohoo!
