May Day! May Day! 2nd Munchkin on the Move!
Caris is finally walking!!! đ
She took her first wobbly steps on 2 May, and within two weeks, she was walking everywhere. Even as a 2nd-time mom, it still amazes me how fast they progress!
I still recall the time when Cristan was one year old, and I was fretting about how he had not started walking yet. We even raised our concerns with his paediatrician, who gently reassured us that there is a wide range of ânormalâ for when a child should reach this developmental milestone.
Fast forward three years later, and I found myself feeling rather relieved that Caris didnât start walking until this month, at 15 months old! After all, two munchkins running around the house can only spell one thing: T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
True enough, now that sheâs officially a full-fledged toddler, the mayhem in the house has not just doubled, but multiplied exponentially. There is absolutely no point in clearing up the 1,001 bits of random toys strewn around the house, because right after putting them back into their respective boxes, they get thrown out again almost immediately!
Caris seems to be enjoying her new-found mobility very much. One of her favourite things to do is to toddle out into the living room, butt-naked, right after her bath. Cristan happily follows suit. Yep, Iâm outnumbered and really should just surrender nowâŠ
The biggest difference I’ve noticed so far, is that Caris is a lot more adventurous in pushing her physical limits. Cristan, in comparison, has always been the careful and cautious sort.
But to be honest, Iâm really enjoying this stage in Carisâ development. I find toddling toddlers SO DARN CUTE!!!
Itâs also much easier to bring her out, as I can let her roam around on her own, instead of having to carry her everywhere!
Most of all, itâs delightful to see her finally joining in during playtime. Now that she is able to walk (albeit unsteadily), she can explore and play together with her brother and cousins!
I’m quite sure this is the start of yet another chapter in my parenting journey: managing double trouble munchkins! Stay tuned for more nefarious adventures of the cheeky duo!
