Hello, little one.
At first, we couldn’t be sure about your arrival. Mummy took 4 tests, and one of them said you weren’t coming.
When we were finally positive, excitement turned into confusion, anxiety, discomfort and sleepless nights. We wondered, we worried, and we still do.
But love is never just about joy and enjoyment. Above the uncertainty and fear, we love you. Whatever the future may be, we love you.
I’ve been singing, reading and talking to you, but there’s still so much more I wish to tell you.
I hope you will watch and listen with your eyes and ears, then see and hear with your heart and mind.
I hope you will speak nicely and wisely.
I hope you will think a lot, but worry little.
I hope you will know yourself better than I know you.
I hope your tears will be more of joy than of sorrow.
I hope you will always have something to hope for.
I hope you will have faith and not be hurt. If you are hurt, I hope love will keep you strong.
And this is from Daddy, who loves to sing: “I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words, how wonderful life is while you’re in the world.”
See you soon, little banana. Love, Mummy.
