This post is all about celebrating the beauty of the baby bump!
I’m so glad to be pregnant in this modern day, when pregnancy is considered beautiful and not a dreaded condition to be “endured”. This is in stark contrast to a couple of decades ago when the growing belly had to be hidden under loose and frumpy clothing. Not only has maternity clothing become fashionable and stylish, but women nowadays are proud to show off their bumps with clothing that even accentuate the womanly curves!
I’m also blessed to have a husband who genuinely feels that a woman is most beautiful when pregnant. In fact, that was one of the things he said (while we were dating) that earned him quite a few brownie points! I thought, wow, that’s an enlightened, sensitive new age guy! Or maybe it was just a very good sales pitch…whatever the case, it obviously worked!
Throughout my pregnancy, I have marvelled at the miracle of new life growing within me, and being simply amazed at the entire process of conception, pregnancy and birth. I have enjoyed every aspect of this, loving the roundness of the ever-growing bump, feeling Boubbles moving inside, and spending quality time each night before Tim and I go to sleep, covering Boubbles in prayer and blessings.
At 37 weeks now, I only have about 3 weeks before Boubbles finally arrives, and the excitement is rising more and more each day. I’ll be starting maternity leave in a week, and my in-laws will be in town in a few days’ time. Almost everything is in place for the new adventure to begin, and I really cannot wait! What a beautiful time in this journey of life!
Anyway, I thought I’d share some pictures of my developing bump throughout pregnancy, including the professionally taken bump shots that I absolutely ADORE! It was expensive, but oh-so-worth it! And the other pictures were just fun shots taken at the pool, since I’ve been swimming pretty often throughout pregnancy, my only form of exercise to get ready for labour!
And now, proudly presenting our studio bump shots taken a couple of weeks ago:
Overall, I really love being pregnant! 🙂 Although I’ve put on an appalling amount of weight and the scales have hit a range I would never have imagined before, I’m still very proud of how my body looks. I hope all pregnant ladies out there feel the same way and are happily celebrating their bumps as well. Embrace the curves, my fellow preggies! 🙂
