About Mandy

Ever heard the one about the engineer and the lawyer? It’s the classic “opposites attract” situation. Well, as a talented singer-songwriter friend put it in the lovely song she wrote for our wedding, “perhaps God made variety to fit perfectly”.

Tim & I started off as good friends in Raffles Hall, NUS, and we hung out for about 6 years before any sparks actually flew. It was honestly quite weird transitioning from platonic friendship to couplehood, and at first, I felt like I was kissing a brother. Gross…

But now, I wouldn’t have had it any other way! It’s great to marry your best friend!

Tim’s most dramatic investment in the relationship occurred within the first few months of getting together, when this ambitious workaholic quit his job, threw caution to the wind, and joined me for 2 months of amazing rail travel, hostels and shoestring budget backpacking in Europe! It was part of my “search for purpose in life” quarter-life crisis year-out adventure.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I’ve left the law profession for one of the most fulfilling jobs in the world, alleviating poverty around the world and helping impoverished children live life in all it’s fullness. Tim has resumed his happy workaholic life in a water treatment MNC.

We recently tied the knot in September 2010, and headed off to our dream honeymoon in the Greek islands 2 days after the wedding. Somewhere amidst the picturesque white and blue houses, spectacular sunsets and ancient ruins of early civilisation, we created the most awesome souvenir ever, our honeymoon baby!

We’re now eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby, while at the same time adjusting to life as newly-weds. It’s been fun and fulfilling so far, and we’re happy to have you join us as we share our story!

Hello! Thanks lots for the congratulatory wishes! πŸ™‚

Yep we loved Santorini too, and since it was the most romantic spot of the entire honeymoon, we’re guessing that the baby was most likely created there!

As for names, we’re looking at those with Greek origins. Thought it’ll be quite meaningful that way, and a great story to tell our baby!

Ooh nice Greek baby! Me n my hubby went for honeymoon in Greece too, attempts for a honeymoon baby failed, wasn’t as easy as we thought. We even joking thought if its a boy, his name will be Santosh and girl, we’ll call her Rina. Just so b’cos we were in Santorini. Haha!

I looking forward to reading your stories! Congrats on ur lovely pregnancy!
