“Wah! Four kids? Two sets of twins? Which side of your family has twins?”
Jonathan and I married in 2012, we knew our biological clocks were ticking as we approached our mid 30s and 40s, so we decided to seek professional help.
In 2016, we successfully paired TCM with IVF to conceive our first pair of twins, I gave birth to Johanna and Julian in June 2017. Our families were so excited – my parents couldn’t wait to meet their first grandchildren. Since the pregnancy and delivery went so smoothly, I soon felt ready to have more kids. And in 2018, we conceived our second set of twins and I gave birth to Jodie and Josie in April 2019.
People get curious whenever Jonathan and I go out with both sets of twins. We hear comments like, “Wah! Four kids? Two sets of twins? Which side of your family has twins?” My response to them? “The IVF side.”
How we manage with both set of twins? Well, it’s about proper planning and setting the right expectations, Jonathan and I made it a point to spend enough time with the twins, we were also mentally prepared for the sleep deprivation that was to come, it is a good thing we have help with the household chores.
Our kids brought our relationship to a new level, a level where we become stronger in love and in partnership in this family of six.
