JEREMY RATNAM, POWER 98, Programme Director
My wife Jamie and I have been married for 15 years and counting. Today, we are the proud parents of four beautiful children: Nicole (12), Kevin (11), Junior (10), and Danielle (7).
Four kids can sometimes prove to be a handful, but we make it a point to spend quality time with one another. It’s important that we sit down together as a family for a meal every day, whether it’s lunch, dinner or even supper. Furthermore, as a radio deejay, I sometimes have to work on Saturdays and Sundays, so I try to make every day a “weekend” for my wife and kids.
For us, family time doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive; it can be anything from a simple meal at home together, to a simple stroll on the beach collecting seashells. Even a bus ride (provided that everyone is seated) can be fun, too!
On other occasions, we enjoy walking around our neighbourhood together and exploring new eateries, new attractions and even new housing estates – staying at Punggol 21 sure has its advantages! What’s more, we prefer staycations to holidays, as they’re far cheaper and more comfortable for the kids.
Family time is crucial; the more quality time you spend with your kids, the better you’ll understand each of them. At the end of the day, your loved ones are the people who will always be there for you!
