For couples

Siloso Beach Party

Live it up at the 11th edition of the Siloso Beach Party, Singapore’s only beach countdown extravaganza.

Expect lots of fireworks and adrenaline-pumping music; headline acts include top local and international DJs like Bassjackers, Kaylova, Caden, Foamberry, Doppelgangerz, Jensen and more.

There’ll even be a 50,000-litre foam pool! The celebrations will continue long after the clock strikes 12, so you can literally party from dusk till dawn.

General admission from $48.

Naumi Hotel

For an intimate night out, head to Naumi Hotel, where in-house restaurant Table by Rang Mahal will dish up a lavish four-course Indian meal.

Thereafter, head up to rooftop bar Cloud 9 for a cocktail reception that includes free-flow canapes and house pours.

Incidentally, Cloud 9 is also one of the best places in the city from which to view the fireworks!

Dinner at Table by Rang Mahal from S$75++; cocktail reception at Cloud 9 from S$98++.

Royal Albatross

For something even swankier, set sail on a New Year’s Eve cruise and countdown party on board luxury charter yacht Royal Albatross.

The dinner cruise will take passengers from Sentosa through the Southern Islands, and will feature a sumptuous barbecue buffet spread with live cooking stations to boot.

There’ll even be a three-piece band on hand to add to the atmosphere! This will then be followed by a dockside party, which will see DJ BIG take to the decks for a rousing countdown into the early hours of the morning.

$295 for the dinner cruise; $50 for the dockside party.

For families

Marina Bay Countdown 2018

Catch the fireworks at this marquee countdown event at The Float @ Marina Bay, which is undoubtedly Singapore’s largest and most spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration.

But there will be more than just pyrotechnics on show; other activities include a carnival (featuring everything from water rides to roller coasters), an outdoor Countdown Market (offering plenty of shopping and eating options from over 40 artisanal vendors), building projection displays and more.

There’ll also be a picnic area on the Floating Platform, where you can enjoy a delicious spread under the stars (and of course, the fireworks).

Plus, don’t miss the Make A Wish initiative – log on to www.marinabaycountdown.sg/makeawish to pen your hopes and dreams for the year ahead, and you might just see your wish being digitally projected on the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

From $5.50 for the Fireworks Viewing @ The Float; most of the other fringe events are free of charge.

Singapore Cable Car – Celebration Cabins

Get a bird’s-eye view of the fireworks on board the Singapore Cable Car.

This festive season, your family can book your very own private cabin, where you’ll get to enjoy desserts and drinks in the air while marvelling at the action down below.

Now, how’s that for celebrating the New Year in style?

Note: Champagne will only be served to guests above 18 years of age; passengers below 18 will be served non-alcoholic drinks instead.

From $488 per cabin of 6 pax.

Public fireworks viewings

If you don’t wish to pay to view the fireworks from The Float @ Marina Bay, head to one of numerous other vantage points around the promenade instead.

The Helix Bridge and Benjamin Sheares Bridge are situated adjacent to the floating platform, so you’re pretty much guaranteed excellent views.

Other popular spots include Merlion Park, the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, Marina Barrage, Gardens by the Bay and Esplanade Bridge.

Just remember to get to your chosen spot early if you wish to beat the crowds!
